Neglect

I am so sorry to my few followers I have left, I've been neglecting this blog so badly!!! What can I say? We've been busy. We moved to a town West of Fort Worth. Life groups have started up again for us, these are small groups that meet in homes to fellowship and discuss Church and Bible type things. It is a great way to be connected, anyway I love participating in this type of group dynamic. It is awesome to be part of people's lives in the good and the bad, and support each other. I'm in my last week of school for this sub-semester. The next sub-semester doesn't start for a little over a week, so it will be cool to have some time to catch up a bit with other things. DH did nearly all the laundry I've been neglecting for about two weeks, so that was pretty awesome.

Okay, here's a list of random things:

I love this new makeup artist chick I found on youtube, her name's kandee, she is super cute and tells all kinds of fun makeup tricks.

My daughters are going to turn 5 and three within a month. Great, now I'm crying.

Oldest has started reading using hooked on phonics

I worked out today for the first time in about a month. I took on some sort of stomach virus while visiting my parents in the beginning of September that just kicked my butt and sucked out all of my energy. On the positive side, I lost ten pounds the first day I was ill. So that was cool:)

I'm feeling a little depressed actually. Which is unusual. I mean, like anyone I get down once in awhile, but I just feel bummed lately. Pray for me.

I am excellent at finding many things to do besides homework.

I should probably quit this and go finish mine now.

Thanks to my handful of followers still hanging in there...

summer in Texas

Haven't felt much like blogging lately...Lets do a little list to catch things up

*We'd probably be a diaper free house if I had the energy to help Riley potty train.
*I am done school until like August 29th or something like that
*We have been very busy with new church activities.
*We went on vacation to San Antonio and wore the kids out at Sea World, Six Flags and walking around at the River Walk.
*I kind of wish DH's family was in some where like, New York, Vermont, or ANYWHERE that hasn't been over 100 degrees for the whole month so far with no end in sight and we could live there instead of TEXAS. or at least I wish I had been a less clingy girlfriend and held my ground and stayed on the East coast of the country. UGH! Someone posted a picture on Facebook of a thermometer reading 108, I'm not joking.
*Even though its cool in here I know its too hot to want to do anything...
*I have a great topic idea for my school blog and I am excited to get it rolling...
*I started using sparkpeople.com to record my daily fitness and nutrition information.
*We're eating at McDonald's tonight because that is where DH's staff meeting for church is going to be at.
*We are in the process of buying a house in Weatherford where the church is. It is across the street from a big park and I'm excited about that. The house is a typical 1920's style bungalow similar to the one we owned in Florida, so that's cool too.
*Stupid walmart stopped carrying my favorite kind of tea bags, Jasmine Green Tea, it makes the most fabulous iced tea and now I'm pretty sure I'm boycotting them.
*That's all, too hot to think anymore.

Ho Hum- useless facts wednesday

*we're headed to the zoo this morning with some friends

*I like to dress the girls in coordinating colors but not the same exact clothes

*I was at a friends house yesterday and the way she hangs their clothes up is something to be emulated, so I think I will

*we are under contract to buy a new house in Weatherford (the town the new church is being launched)

uhmmmm...

*DH turns 30 on Sunday:-)...But he doesn't really like to celebrate birthdays, not that he's against it or anything, just thinks its dumb or something...read: fuddy duddy

*DH is on Facebook now, he thinks he probably won't ever use it, but at least now I get to show him off to all my internet buddies.

*I have an old high school friend who recently moved to upstate New York and started a farm. This is so not what I would have expected her to do back in the day, but intriguing none the less.

*Reagan overheard me sharing the news that one of my friends daughters was recently baptized. Reagan started asking us to baptize her in the pool. I said no and tried to explain to her why.

*There is a rodeo starting tonight and lasting through the weekend if anyone's interested...Its out in Parker County...I'm not sure what they do there, but we're going!

*Thats all I got.

one more dead disgusting snake in the world

Remember how I HATE snakes? I think I have a phobia, because it really does change how I will live...for example I won't go take the trash out at night because I'm convinced there are snakes hiding somewhere in the shadows, and I have been RIGHT! I darned near stepped on one barefoot a year and a half ago...right at dusk..they love dusk and dawn, I'm not sure why but trust me they do...that's always when you'll find them being disgusting and creepy.

But anyways, on the way home today there was a SIX FOOT RATTLE SNAKE sprawled across the off ramp. DH swerved to be sure and smash it to its death. He's killed lots of snakes for me. I've only killed one before, it was a rattler on the side of the road by my old house, I swerved the suburban nearly off the road to be sure and smoosh it.

Things I hate about snakes:

they are stinkin' creepy
they slither
they have those forkedy tongues
they look evil
I get the eebedy jeebedy's when they are moving
they are shocking when you stumble upon them
and again i cannot emphasize enough that they SLITHER, uhggh, so awful...I hate snakes.

why do I do this to myself

so just out of curiousity I decided to peruse the course guides at my school for the classes i will take when I start my masters...yes i wont be done for like a year but i just couldnt resist. maybe i'm missing something but it seems the graduate level classes have a much lighter workload than the undergraduate classes. SO. NOT. FAIR.

Fancy Parallel Parking

-Clear Throat.

Doesn't work.

I pulled up alongside DH's very old two-tone brown truck the other day and decided to parallel park in front of it. (We have street parking at my house)

I was so bored of doing it the boring same-old same-old way of backing into the space. So, I decided to do it the much more fancy and much more clever way I'd like to call "forward parallel parking". It actually doesn't work, as the rear passenger door of my car can attest to. Its all smashed up from me crunching it into the front bumper of DH's truck.

DH was unamused when I came in and let him know the good news that his truck (which wasn't running at the time) made it through just fine.

What can I say?, guess you really do learn something new every day.

go look at the political cartoon at this link

okay so basically that judge chick up for nomination is being depicted as a pinata and the republicans depicted as elephants are going to start taking swings at her.

like i've said before, i'll leave my own political commentary out of this but I think the cartoon is kindof clever..is that wrong? anyway, i skimmed the article and some dude said, something like,

little girls reading this cartoon aren't going to get it, they'll just see a bunch of dudes about to beat a lady w/ a stick.

my question, are little girls reading political cartoons? i mean anyone who reads this cartoon, is probably informed enough to realize the artist is not telling us its okay for elephant men to beat women.
